E-BOOKS from the Talitha Cumi Book Series

I must admit, I am the one who is the most blessed, encouraged and inspired by each story in each anthology that weve published. But honestlywe have heard powerful testimonies of how women throughout the United States, Johannesburg, South Africa to Toronto, Canada have been blessed by our books.

In Dream Again: Awakening the Dreamer Inside of You, fifteen powerful women come together to collaboratively ignite a fire in you to dream again. Whether you are living your dreams or struggling to find the courage to dream again, you will benefit from reading their testimonies. Each contributing author knows the power of dreaming with God. They understand the need to consult God for direction, wisdom and for vision.

Dream Again: Awakening the Dreamer Inside of You is the seventh book in our Talitha Cumi series. Over 80 womens stories have graced the pages of our anthologies. Many women were first-time authors and for some of them, becoming a published author was a dream come true. Their stories have run the gamut of subjects, ranging from dealing with the premature death of a childto being diagnosed with cancerto overcoming fear. And in this book, the stories are varied as well, with a plethora of life experiences that keeps us, the reader, hopeful that something will be shared to minister to our needs.

For instance, when Rev. Dr. Wilma R. Johnson learned that she had cancertears streaming down her face and resilience in her spirit, she declared, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD. I wasnt there, of course, but knowing this great woman of God so well, I can hear her saying something like this. She is a fighter, and her story of courage and faith in God is filled with hope and healing words. The words of her testimony are designed to give you the overcoming power you need to get through anything.

Another author, Rev. Helene Walker, writes about growing up in the projects and how this affected her. Rev. Walker and I grew up togetherin the same town, were members of the same church, and attended the same schools. To read of the metamorphosis that has occurred in her life is remarkable and inspiring.

Finally, dancing on Broadway was a dream manifested in the life of Apostle Dr. Pamela Hardy. She now travels the world, dancing and training dance companies to worship God through dance. Oh, and Dr. Marsha Foster Boyd leaves us all filled with hope as she tells us the story of her quest to dream again after her father was assassinated.

Here, I would like to personally thank each authorRev. Dr. Wilma R. Johnson, Dr. Marsha Foster Boyd, Bishop Corletta J. Vaughn, Dr. Alta Davis, Elder LaVondia Eldridge, Pastor Velma Biggers, Dr. Silvia Jordan, Bishop C.D. Miller, Trina Lynn Campbell, Dr. Nonyelu Anyichie, Miriam Clay Dorsey, Rev. Helene M. Walker and Apostle Dr. Pamela Hardyfor allowing us to peak into their personal lives and share with us reasons why they continue to dream.

Thank you for purchasing this book. We hope that you enjoy reading it. Please relax, take a deep breath, grab a box of tissue and prepare to be inspired. Imagine the possibilities anddream again!

Courageous is the one word that can be used to describe each of the contributing authors featured in Its Possible: Living Beyond Limitations! It takes courage to look cancer in the eye and say, I will live and I will not die. It takes courage to leave an abusive marriage when all of your Christian friends are saying that you have to stay. And, it takes courage to defy cultural myths to leave what is familiar and venture out into a world of the unknowna world that holds the life of your dreams. Our nineteen co-authors have done thisand more. They are: Rev. Dr. Peninnah M. Kako, Judith S. Cooper, Amy J. Meyer-Johnson, Rev. Helene Walker, Apostle Londen Winders, Michele Sweeting Decaro, Linda A. Haywood, Rebecca Bailey, Zabrina Gordon, Caroline D. Parker, Minister Mary Edwards, Carolyn Solomon, Evangelist Valerie M. Robinson, Pastor O. Agnes Kgasoe, Linda Jo White, Cynthia Moore, Pastor Kimberly Brown, Faith Larkins and Kisha Emanuel Durrell. Against all odds, they have conquered mental illness and destroyed the effects of sexual abuse and abortion. They have not allowed their circumstances to defeat, define or deny them their destiny. These women are champions, and we salute each author!

Its Possible: Living Beyond Limitations! inspires, encourages, and empowers women to rise to the fullness of their potential. Each woman has written a powerful story of how she overcame a limitation imposed upon herbecause of a health issue, a broken relationship, financial difficulties, or some other life-wrenching challenge. The authors moving stories motivate women to stand tall and successfully surmount the myriad of challenges they have faced! It is encouraging to know that ordinary women have achieved extraordinary results through faith in the power of God's Word. These authors are influential speakers, educators, entrepreneurs, pastors and leaders. Their electrifying stories will inspire you to move closer to the heartbeat of God's master plan for your life.

One of my favorite scriptures is Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. This scripture is my life mantrait fuels my passion to live out my dreams. No matter what limitations you may face, we hope that, after reading this anthology, you too will realize that there is nothing you cannot achieve. If youre in a race, run harder! If youre on the side-lines, get back in the race. Be encouraged. Enjoy.

Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.  Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.  Genesis 1:28 NIV

Women play a pivotal role in society, and as Eves daughters, we are called to rule and reign and to have dominion over all things.  In Talitha cumi: Daughters Arise, you will learn vital life lessons from 13 women  lessons that will help you or those that you mentor be prepared to face the challenges of today.  From betrayal to divorce to infertility  its all here!

When God created man and woman, it was His intention that they would walk together side by side, hand in hand.  It was never His intention that men would dominate and rule over women; nor would women dominate and rule over men.  But the enemy got in.  Right from the beginning, Satan was working to divide and conquer.  His plot was to bring doubt and mistrust between Adam and Eve.  He knew that, in order for man and woman to walk together, they must be in agreement.  He realized that the power of agreement was strong and that together they would, through the power of the Holy Spirit, dominate him.  Since that moment in the garden, man and woman have been working to get back to their original position.  Talitha cumi; Daughters Arise, is a tool to encourage us, as women to get back in order and become Eves daughterswomen who rule, reign, and dominate together with their male counterparts.

Each contributing author has her own unique experiences that God has used to get her back to the gardenback to her position of authority and leadership.

In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways. The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.

Judges 5:6-7 KJV

While on a mission trip to South Africa one of my dear African sisters, Linda said to me, “Pastor Andrea, we are going to give you another name.”  I was excited to hear my new name, as two of my other American sisters had already received their names.  She went on to say, “Your new name is Masetjhaba, which means “mother of the nation.”  I was thrilled, as what she said was confirmation to me as to the title of this book, “Talitha cumi: Mothers of the nations arise.”  Prior to leaving Johannesburg she presented me with a plaque titled, Masetjhaba.

Masetjhaba

From the S. Sotho name

“Masetjhaba” meaning

“Mother of the Nation”

She is like a breath of fresh air

She gives unselfishly

She can work well under pressure

It is worth getting to know her

She is as mysterious as the morning mist

Can be a priceless pearl

Staunch in her beliefs

She has a sharp wit and with a contagious laugh

A logical person

It’s time for the mothers to arise!  “Will the real mothers stand up?” is the question of one writer.  Women, let us leave childish play and assume the position of a mother.  Frankly, I have grown weary of grown women acting like girls.  When I was a girl, I acted like a girl, I thought like a girl and fought like a girl; but when I became a woman, I took on the character of a woman and put my dolls and playhouse away.  1 Cor 13:11 says, “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”  There is too much at stake for us to not be serious about our role as mothers.

Women play a vital role in shaping our children, our families, our communities, and the nations.  Designed by God with this tremendous power of influence, women—mothers—must understand who they are and what it is they have been called to do. Never underestimate the power of a woman.

There are many great women who have made a lasting impact throughout the world.  From Harriett Tubman to Mother Theresa to Esther, Deborah and Jael.  It never ceases to amaze me how strong, resilient and powerful women are.

The co-authors of Talitha cumi; Mothers of the nations arise have shared personal testimonies how God challenged them to rise up and become the women He has ordained them to be.  You may or may not be assigned as a missionary to the foreign field, but you have a God-given assignment that you were born to fulfill.  Will you obey?  Perhaps you have been called to be an intercessor and to pray for the nations.  Will you obey?  There is a dear sister in Plymouth, Michigan, whose prayer ministry is impacting nations.  On a weekly basis, the people of God gather to intercede for the needs of others in her prayer chambers in the basement of her home.  Her ministry is vitally important in helping birth and move people into their divine destinies.

The 12 women you will hear from—Dr. Luvenia Maxine Miles, Pastor Ursula Higgins, Pastor Regina Burrell, Elder Alta Davis, Missionary Lois Richardson, W. L. Cati, Dr. Velma Rosemond, Sarah McChristian, Minister Bernice Johnson, Regina Molokomme, Pastor Agnes Kgasoe and Pastor Carmen DeVries, are bright, bold, and courageous ordinary women who have allowed God to use them for extraordinary purposes.  Three of our sisters hail from South Africa, one from the Netherlands, and the others from across the United States.

Bask, Breathe and Bathe in the warmth, candidness and honesty written into each story.  Come take a journey with us to the tropics of Haiti, through the inner city of Detroit, into the hospital corridors, and down the streets of South Africa.
